ELEMENTAL Annual Exhibition – Entry Form

‘ELEMENTAL’ is CAQ’s annual showcase event of our members’ work. All financial CAQ members are welcome to enter their work for the exhibition. No entry fee is applicable.

The exhibition will be held at the Metcalfe Gallery, Brisbane Institute of Art (Windsor) from 1-12 September, with the opening event on Friday 1 September at 6pm. All welcome!

IMPORTANT DATES 

Friday 18 August Last day to register for the event using the booking feature below.
Friday 25 August List of Works & Artist Details form due for labels. 
Monday 28 August Last day for receipt of works sent via Australia Post.
Thursday 31 August 8am-noon Delivery of work to gallery & set-up.
Friday 1 September 9.30am Open to public.
Friday 1 September 6pm
Official opening event – All welcome!
Tuesday 12 September 4.00pm Close of exhibition. 
Wednesday 13 September 8am-12pm Collection of work and clean-up. 

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Entry is free.
  • Entry to open to all financial CAQ members and 2 members from any CAQ Group Membership.
  • Members may enter up to 10 works which must consist of a minimum 70% ceramic material.
  • Entries may have multiple elements (sold as one item), but all entries must fit within an area 1m x 1m x 1.5m and be within the weight limit of <50kg/item.
  • Selling price on entry form must include a commission of 25%.
  • A “Statement by Supplier” form (which confirms status as a hobbyist) OR an Australian Business Number (ABN) must be provided.
  • Exhibitors will assist CAQ in staffing the exhibition by providing 3.5 hours of time to the morning or afternoon roster, Monday to Saturday, and assist with plinth painting, set-up, opening, and clean-up as required.
  • Placement of work will be at the discretion of the Exhibition Co-ordinator.
  • Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. CAQ will take all care in handling and exhibiting works, but will accept no liability for loss or damage of works while exhibited or in transit.
  • All forwarding and returning costs will be borne by the artist.
  • Artists who sold work during the exhibition will be paid to their bank account (as supplied) within 2-3 weeks of the close of the exhibition. 

 

HOW TO ENTER

  1. REGISTER: Please register using the booking feature below by Friday 18 August. By registering you agree to the Terms & Conditions. 
  2. GALLERY ROSTER: Please sign up for at least one shift on the Roster. Only one person is required per shift during the exhibition. Many hands are needed for set-up and take-down days. The gallery is open from 9:30am-4pm Monday to Saturday (please note the gallery is closed on Sundays). The link for the roster is HERE. Simply type your name into your preferred shift. 
  3. LIST OF ARTWORKS & ARTIST DETAILS: Download the List of Artworks & Artist Details form to your computer, complete, and return to us via email info@ceramicartsqld.org.au no later than Friday 25 August. Please note, this form also captures your bank details and your tax status (either ABN or Supplier Statement). To access this form click HERE. 
  4. PROMOTE: Please promote the event to your friends, family, etc. A promo image is available HERE. Feel free to share this via text, email, and social media. Please bring family/friends to the gallery on Opening night and/or during the exhibition.
