Slip-Casting with Marc Sauvage

Learn slip casting with Marc Sauvage. In this workshop, you will learn the process to make your own moulds which will allow you to reproduce perfect copies of your best pieces. This two-day hands-on workshop will cover:

  • Mould making
  • Making slips and casting
  • Exploring decorative techniques

 

The workshop will be held at the Brisbane Institute of Art (Windsor) on these two days:

  • DAY 1: Sunday, 26 May, 9am-3:30pm; AND
  • DAY 2: Sunday, 9 June, 9am-2:30pm.

Please note: there is two weeks between workshop days to allow time for the moulds to completely dry.

Morning and afternoon tea provided. Please BYO lunch.

About Marc Sauvage
Marc’s relationship with clay spans almost 50 years. After completing his Diploma in Advanced Ceramics Marc taught ceramics at Southbank TAFE. With an ongoing passion for ceramic chemistry Marc developed and manufactured his own commercial range of underglazes, Deco Colours, while also running workshops and continuing his own thriving ceramics practice. A qualified teacher, Marc taught visual art and ceramics at high school for 15 years, inspiring students to switch onto clay.
