Throwing: Fine-Tuning & Tackling the Tricky Bits with Nicci Parry-Jones
Join Nicci Parry-Jones for a hands-on day of learning and mentorship to refine your wheel-throwing skills. The workshop will cover lidded vessels, foot rings, bellied forms, two-part forms and then individual tuition while attendees are throwing.
The class size will be limited to 10 attendees with basic to intermediate throwing skills. Not suitable for beginners.
Morning/afternoon tea provided. Ample free parking available onsite
Participants need to bring:
- Apron, towel
- Clay – any throwing clay such as Walkers 10, Keane’s SW 33, 7, 9, or Keane’s White Raku
- One or two leather-hard thick bottomed bowls (for turning)
- Calipers, ruler
- Notebook/pen
- Lunch (morning and afternoon tea provided)

About Nicci Parry-Jones
Nicci has been involved with ceramics for around 30 years, creating, exhibiting and teaching in NSW and Qld. In 2017 she quit her arts management job and moved to Qld to become a full -time potter, a decision she has never regretted. Her background in the arts has included curating exhibitions, theatre coordination at the Glen Innes Arts Council for six years and community arts projects in regional Australia.
