Porcelain Flowers with Ruth Ju-Shih Li

The workshop will emphasize on meticulous and detailed flower making techniques while exploring local porcelain as a material.

You will learn different hand-forming, press moulding and assembling techniques as well as a foundation in flower making skills.  You will also have the opportunity to use and experiment with the artist’s press moulds and elaborate on the techniques taught while being guided to create your own floral forms to demonstrate your new found skills and knowledge.

The workshop will include:
•Flower making techniques I, II and III
•How to use plaster press moulds
•Demonstrations on advanced flower making techniques
•Unique flower assembling techniques
•Time to experiment and elaborate on newly acquired skills and techniques

Each Participant to bring with them:
A new microfibre cloth, Bamboo skewer, one small wooden board/bat, small bowl for water, small bowl for slip, small fine-point paint brush
