Nerikomi Demonstration with Narumi Ii

Narumi Ii will be giving a demonstration workshop on Nerikomi techniques. The topics covered will be:

  • how to make coloured clay in small amounts
  • colour stains and the safety, tools and materials
  • paper clay
  • two different ways to make gradation colour clay
  • using the gradation clay made, create some simple patterns such as flowers or something abstract
  • construct and complete a Nerikomi slab
  • tips for drying, sanding, and firing

The exact details covered could change slightly on the day. Please bring notepaper/pen for note taking, no video please.

This event is being held as a fundraiser for the Anne Mossman Grant at Foster a Potter. Narumi Ii is generously donating her time as a tribute to Anne Mossman who was a generous mentor to her and other makers. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Anne Mossman Grant. CAQ will be collecting further donations on the day.

Numbers are strictly limited due the the venue size. Please only book if you are able to attend. If your circumstances change after booking please let us know so that the place can be given to someone else. No refunds will be given.
