Join Dr Julie Bartholomew for a presentation and practical clay demonstration that explores environmental issues.
Dr Bartholomew’s presentation Ceramics in the Age of the Anthropocene will focus on her projects about environmental issues, particularly Habitat: the Bee Project. The afternoon will include a practical demonstration of Dr Bartholomew’s unique terracotta beehives.
Afternoon tea and coffee will be provided. Ample free parking is available onsite.

About Dr Julie Bartholomew
Dr Bartholomew is a craft-based artist, educator, and writer. As an artist working with ceramics, and more recently glass, Julie has maintained a high research and exhibition profile through academic studies, exhibitions in Australia and abroad, published articles and art residencies. Throughout her career, Julie has been inspired by cultural issues and social debates. Her art practice has responded to environmental concerns since 2010, with the intention of creating conversations arounds species extinction and our climate emergency.
Julie has been the recipient of multiple awards and her works are held in prestigious public collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, National Museum of Australia, Shepparton Art Museum and Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan.
