Ruby Yeh

Ruby is an emerging Brisbane ceramic artist interested in both functional and sculptural works. She works with both hand-building and wheel-throwing but have a special interest in the slab-building technique. She’s intrigued by the possibilities of simple geometric shapes to form a sophisticated piece as well as the organic tone and texture of different clay bodies. Her work ranges from multiple stacked cubes to mixed clay body Kurinuki pieces. Ruby is also a student practitioner of Urasenke Japanese tea ceremony under the guidance of Sensei Tomoko (Soho) White.

Born 1988, Taiwan
Arrived in Australia 2000

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land, Turrbal & Yuggera, on which I work, live, and create art. I recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. I pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
